Alan participates in pro bono legal representation, Metropolitan Volunteer Lawyers (previously Thursday Night Bar), representation of indigent clients in assigned litigation, 1982 to present; in Denver District Court as a mediator volunteer; as a two term Board Member, Executive Committee/Board of Directors, University of Denver Alumni Association; July 1, 2001-05; as an advisor to the Non-Profit Corporate Board-Beta Gamma Chapter, Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity, University of Denver; 1992-2015; Patient/Client Volunteer Visitor, Red Rocks HealthCare Center, 4450 East Jewell Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80222, November 2001-04; as an Ammi Hyde Interviewer, University of Denver Undergraduate Admissions; entering Class of 2002-08; Arvada Teen Court volunteer Judge, Winter, 2009-13; as a Boy’s and Girls’ Soccer coach-ICE league, Golden CO, Fall 2008-15;
softball and baseball coach through the Golden Junior Baseball/Softball Association, Spring 2011-15; Co-ed and boy’s flag football coach Wheatridge Recreational Center and I-9 leagues, 2015-16; Golden Junior Wrestling coach 2015-16; and sworn in February 2016 as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) of Jefferson County. In that role, Alan will be worked with abused and neglected children.
Alan is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, 1st Judicial District and Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He is AV-rated by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Registry (highest rating) indicating very high to preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards.
He is a board member of the 1st Judicial District Bar Association and Past Treasurer, Vice President and President as of July of 2024.
